Hop on the Bandwagon

I've seen multiple buzzwords pan out:

  • I heard about Bitcoin in college. It's price surged during college and has grown 24-fold since I graduated.
  • Tesla grew 10x in 2020. Even before 2020. it averaged ~36% annualized growth since it went public in 2010.

The Serious and Sensible explanation is survivorship bias Survivorship bias: I'm more likely to remember successes than failures that just kind of fad away.

Indeed, at one point I thought I had heard about GME being a good buy well before it reached its ~$200 valuation in early 2021.
